Long Bio
Giuseppe Lisanti received his PhD degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Florence in 2012 with the thesis “Wide area surveillance with rotating and zooming cameras”, under the supervision of Prof. Alberto Del Bimbo.
From 2012 to 2017, he was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Media Integration and Communication Center (MICC), University of Florence. His research interests focused on computer vision, pattern recognition and machine learning for person detection and tracking, person re-identification and face recognition.
During his work at MICC, he collaborated closely with industrial partners, with particular emphasis on technology and knowledge transfer. He has also been involved in research collaborations with national and international research centres.
He is currently Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Science and Engineering of the University of Bologna. He has co-authored numerous scientific papers in computer vision, multimedia analysis, pattern recognition and machine learning, and received a Best Paper Award at the IEEE Computer Society Workshop on Biometrics in 2017.
