Simone Magistri is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Department of Information Engineering at Florence University.

In 2020, Simone Magistri successfully completed his master’s degree in Information Engineering. During his studies, he developed a strong passion for Machine Learning, Data Science, and Computer Vision.  As part of his master’s program, he undertook a six-month internship at Verizon Connect, where he focused on developing a method for estimating vehicle orientation using monocular cameras installed on moving vehicles. This work became a key component of his master’s thesis.

Following his master’s degree, he enrolled in the Ph.D. program in Smart Computing at Florence University, earning his doctorate in 2024 with a thesis entitled “Efficient Architectures and Incremental Methodologies for Deep Learning”. His research interests include deep learning, computer vision, continual and federated learning techniques, and their applications.
