Leonardo (Finmeccanica) is an italian multinational operating in the sectors of aerospace, defense and security. One of their core businesses is the development of security technology such as advanced video surveillance systems. In the context of the FREEWAY (Face Recognition and Body Re-identification in the Wild) project, the objective of the collaboration is the development of advanced detection and recognition algorithms to be applied to the problem of automatically recognizing people in cameras in the wild. MICC provides its expertise in face, person and object detection systems, face recognition, person re-identification and scientific analysis. Leonardo provides the possibility of scaling and field testing of such systems.
