Prof. Alberto Del Bimbo, co-founder and former Director of MICC, and Prof. Andrew D. Bagdanov, have been selected in the list of most cited and influential researchers of year 2022.

There are 171 researchers and professors of the Florentine University in the ranking of the most influential world authors in 2022.

The ranking, published by Elsevier for all disciplinary sectors (https://elsevier.digitalcommonsdata.com/datasets/btchxktzyw/4), is based on the Scopus database which collects tens of thousands of scientific publications: 2% of the researchers were selected (in total about 200.000), who were most influential in their sector for 2022 based on a set of indicators, largely based on citations received.

Among the indicators used, the total number of citations received and citations of articles of which the researcher is a single author, or first or last author.
