Video Compression

Leonardo Galteri

Leonardo Galteri is currently a PhD student in computer vision and pattern recognition at the Media Integration and Communication center under the supervision of Prof. Alberto Del Bimbo.

Leonardo Galteri was born in Florence on August 9th, 1986. He received a master degree cum laude in computer engineering from the University of Florence in 2014 with the thesis ‚ÄúSpatio-temporal saliency maps for adaptive video compression”.

Currently he is a PhD student and research fellow at the Media Integration and Communication Center, under the supervision of Prof. Alberto Del Bimbo.

His research interest focus on objecteness estimation, visual saliency and video compression.

Since the beginning of his PhD he took part as a teaching assistant in the Parallel Computing course (Prof. Marco Bertini, academic year 2015/16) at the University of Florence.
