Maurizio Lunghi Digital archives & libraries - GDPR

A mediator, he likes to facilitate the adoption of digital technologies by final user in different sectors, like cultural heritage, scientific community, University, medical and first aid, to understand needs and create consensus. Long experience in the cultural heritage sector working on a large spectrum of topics, from digitisation, metadata, accessibility, up to long term preservation of digital archives.

Recently he works on personal digital archives and GDPR (679/2016 EC), as European Privacy Expert, merging together competences on personal data protection with his skills on digital archives management and access.

During the experience (2014-2005) as scientific director of the no-profit Fondazione Rinascimento Digitale promoting Internet technology within the cultural heritage community, he develops experience and competences on topics from digitisation, color certification, Internet accessibility, copyright, all the long-term digital curation and preservation related issues.

He has worked at the European Commission DG-INFSO for three years (2000-2003) in Luxembourg, acting as project officer: during that experience he has developed expertise on project management and reporting, on speaking in public, on benchmarking and success indicators metrics.

Long experience on projects funded by the European Commission and in events organisation, like the international conference “Cultural Heritage on line” on 2006, 2009, 2012 in cooperation with the Library of Congress, IFLA, UNESCO.
