Long Bio
Pietro Bongini was born in Florence in 1993. He received his Master’s degree in Computer Engineering from the University of Florence in 2019 with the thesis “GADA: Generative Adversarial Data Augmentation for Image Quality Assessment”.
From June 2019, he worked at MICC as a Research Fellow on Visual Question Answering applied to Cultural Heritage. He subsequently completed his PhD at the Media Integration and Communication Center (MICC), University of Florence, under the supervision of Prof. Andrew D. Bagdanov and Prof. Alberto Del Bimbo.
His main research interests at MICC were Machine Learning and Computer Vision, with a focus on Visual Question Answering and Image Quality Assessment.
He is currently AI Technical Coordinator at Leonardo S.p.A.
