Leonardo Galteri

Leonardo Galteri was born in Florence on August 9th, 1986. He received a master degree cum laude in computer engineering from the University of Florence in 2014 with the thesis “Spatio-temporal saliency maps for adaptive video compression”.

Currently he is a PhD student and research fellow at the Media Integration and Communication Center, under the supervision of Prof. Alberto Del Bimbo. His research interest focus on objecteness estimation, visual saliency and video compression.

Claudio Ferrari

Claudio Ferrari was born on May 24th, 1988 in Arezzo. He received a master degree cum laude in computer engineering from the University of Florence in 2014 with a thesis on Pose Independent Face Recognition. Currently, he is a PhD student and research fellow at the Media Integration and Communication Center, under the supervision of Prof. Alberto Del Bimbo. His research interests focus on pattern recognition and computer vision applications.

Federico Becattini

Federico Becattini was born in Florence on November 25th, 1989. He received a master’s degree in computer engineering from the University of Florence in 2014 with the thesis “Accelerating Exemplar-SVM label transfer”. Currently he is working as a PhD candidate at the Media Integration and Communication Center at the University of Florence, focusing of efficient machine learning techniques for object detection and semantic annotation.

Federico Bartoli

Federico Bartoli received his master’s degree in computer science from the University of Florence, Italy. He is currently a PhD candidate at the Media Integration and Communication Center. His research interests include pattern recognition and computer vision, specifically pedestrian detection and person re-identification. Lately, he is working with state-of-the-art person re-identification descriptors to augmented museum visitors experience for personalized multimedia content delivery and real-time methods to speed-up the detection process for surveillance and critical scenarios.

Simone Ercoli was born on 18 May 1983 in Siena. He received a Master’s Degree in computer engineering from University of Florence in 2012 with a thesis on “Design and Development of an Augmented Reality Application for mobile systems” . He’s a PhD Candidate and currently working as researcher in the Visual Information and Media Lab at the Media Integration and Communication Center, University of Florence.

Dario Di Fina

Dario Di Fina was born on 12 October 1986 in Palermo. He received his Master’s Degree cum laude in computer engineering from the University of Florence, in 2012 with his thesis “Multi-Target Data Association by Sparse Reconstruction”.

He is currently a PhD Candidate at the Visual Information and Media Lab under the supervision of Prof. Alberto Del Bimbo, working with Giuseppe Lisanti, Ph.D., Svebor Karaman, PhD and Andrew D. Bagdanov, Ph.D. in the Media Integration and Communication Center, University of Florence.
His main research interests are focused on the application of pattern recognition and computer vision specifically in the field of gaze estimation, multi-characteristic face classification, human behaviour and multi-target tracking.
